Suggest Treatment For Irregular Heavy Periods And Dysfunctional Uterine Syndrome

30 yr old female with irregular heavy periods. Skipped 3 months then started latest period Sep 2nd (still going). Diagnosed Dysfunctional Uterine Syndrome. Progesterine pills prescribed for one week. Bled light for 2 days, normal 2 days, then back to heavy (super plus tampon every hour). Low estrogin birth control 4 pills a day for one week. Stopped bleeding for 1 day, light for 2 days, normal for 2 days, now back to heavy (super plus tampon every hour). Have had numerous clots, several the size of half dollars. I have had cramping, but nothing to stop me in my tracks. Normal pap. Awaiting Ultrasound and GYN appointment. I have hypothyroidism, but levels have been normal. Is there anything that I can ask my doctor to check, or anything I can do?
