Suggest Treatment For Irregular Menstrual Periods

Hi I have a question about my period. I have a kinda irregular time of when my cycle comes and on Sunday I'm suppose to be going out of town to a water resort. I thought about taking a birth control pill to make my period start, but I don't know if it will work. Can you give me any help?
