I am trying to conceive for the last eight months. At first I had vaginal infection.later it was cured. We checked T3, T4, Tsh. They are also normal.still my periods are irregular.Doctor made an ultrasound of my uterus. It was also normal. But I am not getting pregnant. Now I didn t get my periods for 2 months.Made 5 pregnancy tests. All were negative..Now doctor prescribed Regestrone 5mg for 7 days(2-0-2) to get my periods..I am taking folic acid also. what should be done to regularise my periods and get pregnant?
Hello and welcome to HCM, The menstrual cycles should be regular to conceive. Thus, it is important to regularize the menstrual cycles to be able to conceive. Irregular menstrual cycles can occur due to many causes most common being hormonal imbalance, fibroid(s), etc. Since, the ultrasound of abdomen is within normal limits, hormonal imbalance is the next suspected cause. Hormonal treatment will correct the hormonal imbalance and thus start the menstrual cycles. Continue the treatment prescribed by your gynecologist.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
