Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi Doctor, I'm 21 yrs old, I've never had a regular cycle. it has been as long as 40 days and as short as 29. days are however fixed at 5. it does not affect me in anyway. the only downside is i can never say for sure when the menstruation comes. it's been the same since menarche(13). My BMI is 26 but the situation has been the same since my BMI was 18 up till now. i don't know if it's related but something else i've also always had is bleeding gums. I brush like a dentist so it's not the hygiene or technique.
1.Some do have the periods with 40 days, but since you are saying its irregular with no pattern - needs further investigation. 2.In this case the treatment of choice includes hormonal therapy. 3.But before jump into the treatment - i would have ask for a ultrasound pelvis. 4.Ultrasound pelvis could help to assess the stats of uterus and ovaries - as irregular periods with wait gain are generally seen in poly cystic ovarian syndrome. 5.Once the cause is identified the treatment can be accordingly. For the dental bleed, i would recumbent to get a complete blood found with platelet level - that will help to evaluate the cause.
Good luck. Hope i have answered your query, any thing to ask ? do not hesitate to ask. http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-ganesh/62888
