General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Following are the cause of irregular period: Hormonal imbalance, emotional problem like stress, ovarian cyst/PCOS, change in life style and dietary habit, thyroid disorder etc.

I advice you to consult the gynecologist and get the done following investigations: reproductive hormone analysis, thyroid hormone, ovarian follicle study, USG scan etc.

Management depends on cause. Period can be induced by medroxyprogesterone after proper evaluation.

Do regular exercise like walking and medication early in the morning for 45-60 minutes, healthy diet and fresh fruits.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Iven Romic Rommstein
