General & Family Physician 's  Response
A sting or bite of insect injects venom composed of proteins and other substances that may trigger an allergic reaction. The sting also causes redness and swelling at the site of the sting. Blackening is due to excessive scratching.
1.     Apply betamethasone cream (Betnovate - C cream) locally every 8 hours
2.     Do not scratch the area as it will cause skin damage and infection
3.     You can apply calamine lotion for itching
