Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic
I will keep a possibility of extensive
tinea corporis (
fungal infection). Tinea or fungal infection may initially present as red, raised bumps and subsequently they may take the form of annular or oval lesions, with raised scaly margin and central clearing.
They expand peripherally and can become extensive so as to involve an entire limb or a large part of abdomen.
Diagnosis is usually obvious on clinical examination. KOH wet preparation is confirmatory.
I would suggest you to try an OTC
topical antifungal e.g
clotrimazole 1% cream, however, for an extensive involvement such as this, Oral antifungals like fluconazole, should be started.
Oral antifungals are prescription drugs and therefore I would suggest that you visit a
dermatologist in your region for confirmatory diagnosis as well as appropriate treatment.
An OTC oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10 mg once daily would provide you symptomatic relief from itching.
Also get a blood sugar test to rule out diabetes, as extensive tinea are quite common in diabetes.
