Hi, my vagina has been itchy for the past week. In the recent 4 days its become incredibly painful, it hurts to urinate and stings all of the time. I looked, and there are cuts around the outside of my vagina, which are red stingy and itchy. I ve also had heavy discharge which alternates between a milky liquid or cottage cheese consistency. Its really painful and I don t know what to do
In my opinion You can have a bacterial vaginosis which is an infection of the vagina caused by bacteria. Bacterial vaginosis is more common in women who are sexually active but it is not a sexually transmitted infection.
Symptoms that may occur: itching, burning, smelly vaginal discharge (fishy-smelling odor), the discharge is usually white, gray or yellow, burning during urination.
Bacterial vaginosis is treated with antibiotics as a pills, cream or capsules ( which You put into vagina). Antibiotic is usually continued for 7 days.
Please note that having more than one sex partner and douching increase Your risk of getting bacterial vaginosis.
You have to contact Your doctor so that he or she can examine You and prescribe treatment.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
