Suggest Treatment For Itching And Swelling In The Right Eye
Hi, the last 2 nights I woke up to an itchy face and right eye swollen. I took a Benadryl it appeared to help. I have cats and thought it was an allergic reaction to my cats, however I had them for 14 years. it could be from a spider bite or some type of bug bite. I m wondering if it could be something other than an allergic reaction to something.
Insect bites may cause itchiness and swelling, so it may be that the symptoms you developed are due to an insect bite. Benadryl helps with insect bites as well, so you may continue to use it (be cautious if you need to drive as it may cause drowsiness).
If you notice your symptoms come back time after time then an allergic reaction may be the cause. Even though you have had the cats for 14 years now, you may still develop an allergic reaction to them after such time. Other allergens may be the cause as well. So, to better know which is the cause of the allergic reaction, in this case, skin tests for allergy would be very helpful.
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
