Suggest Treatment For Itching Around The Head Of The Penis

As a man i had this itch around my penis when skin back which i had jock itch before in the groin but i don t know if it is affecting my penis so i put some schederma cream around the skin at the neck and tip of the penis when skinned back and the itch is still there but not bad after 2-3weeks i woke up one morning and found that when i shower my penis with soap when skinned back i get this burning also when washed. What i saw on my penis was like scratches a little red bump more on the left up to the tip. What could this be and can i still use the schederma cream or Micospec BV cream please advise me thanks.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Most probably it could be a fungal infection. As first-line management, you can apply clotrimazole for symptomatic relief. If symptoms persist better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
