Suggest Treatment For Itching In Penis And Upper Thigh Area
Hi Doc,
I am 22 yrs old male and facing itching problem near penis and upper thigh area since past 4 yrs.
At first, I ignored it as didn't had any clue but after a week or so realized that there's a red - black mark on upper thigh and it started itching frequently.The situation got worse as the black area increased, I felt shy of sharing this problem with anyone.
Finally, got in touch with meducal store and took ointment. The issue was under control but itching started again after I stopped applying ointment. Now , itching goss and comes as I stop applying ointment. I don't exactly remember the name of ointment..also I accept that I used to not apppy the ointment everyday.
Can you please help me with problem and suggest for a cure (good ointment). This time I will make sure that I apply it on regular basis.

It could possibly be due to 'Jock itch' or ring worm infection. it is a skin fungal infection. If it is not treated adequately it could persist for months and relapse also possible. First of all, it has to be confirmed by a Dermatologist by examination, if necessary with some investigations. The topical treatment alone may not be sufficient. You may need oral anti-fungal antibiotics (weekly once) also and the treatment has to be continued for 3-4 weeks to get a total cure. The exact treatment should be prescribed only after an examination only. So it is better for you to consult a Dermatologist and get well soon.
