Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi doc. i m having severe itching in pelvic area down to the lower part of buttocks. Round rings also appear on lower belly and the affected area. i have tried several anti-allergic medicines and different local applications but to no avail. dryness is also there, which causes more itching. a strong urge for itching seizes me and i cannot resist and start itching.
The round rings indicate that there maybe a fungal infection present. This can cause intense itching to occur.
Treatment would require a topical anti fungal cream at least but if the rash is extensive then an oral anti fungal would be needed as well. It can take 2 to 3 weeks of persistent treatment for a fungal rash to improve.
For the first 3 to 4 days, you may want to add a steroid cream but it should not be continued beyond this point. Persistent use would delay the response to treatment.
I hope this helps
