Suggest Treatment For Itching In The Vaginal Area

I have noticed itching near my external areas in the vagina area I just purchased some vagisal and some capsules for treatment and am wandering if I made the right choice? The area is very red and it s irritating and I am not sure how I got this because this has never happened before. I also was sexually active with my boyfriend last night will this effect him in some way ? Should I be worried ?

Hi,

I understand your concern.

Having vaginal itchiness should not be worrisome. It's a sign of vaginal irritation (most probably after having hard or dry sex); or allergy to condoms or other sexual toys you might have used. Or, it could be due to vaginal infection (fungal infection).

I advise to:
- keep good genital hygiene
- apply clotrimazole locally

If this does not help, consult further with gynecologist.
