Suggest Treatment For Itching On Back And Between Legs

Hallo, I am 65, I have been having periodic itching on my back, ie the itching goes away for awhile but comes back, seems to travel, ie when I scratch my back, then It itches on my calf etc. Also, it itches between the legs and now sometimes on my Penis. Today I saw that the skin on my Penis was dry and when I rubbed the head and shaft, the dry skin peeled off. Again, the discomfort is intermittent, generally just before I go to bed. I get refief if I wash the legs, back, the area berween the legs and the Penis with very hot water ( shower) What could be the matter?

Hello,

As per your case history of itching on back and legs, my treatment advice is:

1. Do not scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a soothing lotion like Calamine lotion on the affected region twice daily.
3. Take an antihistamine medicine like Levocetirizine twice daily for 7 to 10 days.
4. Other treatment options are an oral steroid, and Hydroxyzine medicine is taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
