PLEASE I AM A MALE IN MY TWENTIES,,I HAVE UNPROTECTED SEX WITH A LADY,,,WHICH RESULTED IN THE ITCHING OF MY PENIS AND PROBLEMS IN URINATION....MY DOCTOR PRESCRIBED ANTIBIOTICS AND WHICH I AM ON FOR NOW...I CAN NOW FEEL HEAVINESS IN MY URETHRA,,,,THOUGH I CAN NOW URINATE WELL AND FREE MY BOWEL VERY WELL...FEELING HEAVINESS IN MY URETHRA AND SOMETIMES FEELING OF SHARP PAINS IN MY LOWER ABDOMEN ARE MY PROBLEMS NOW

Hi,

These symptoms are suggestive of uroinfection and this is common in your age and usually is manifested with pain during urination, fever and changes in urination frequency.

Also, blood traces may be present in urine which can have odour or colour change. Other common cause are urinary stones.

Diagnosis is established by doing urine analysis and urinoculture and after this antibiotic treatment may be started if necessary.

If there is negative urine analysis then you should do ultrasound of kidneys to check for stones. You should drink plenty of fluids and take raspberry tea or juice to promote urination.
