Suggest Treatment For Itching Sensation Around The Left Side Of Neck
Neck itches and feels prickly. Only on left side of back of neck. Wakes me up at night. I apply lotion about every 6 hours when awake. Worsens while sweating. Right jaw hurts at times. This has been going on a little over a week. 2 weeks ago I had tonsillitis due to fighting gastroenteritis. After a few days of tonsillitis my left tonsil burst. Bleeding occurred overnight but subsided the following day. 4-5 days later is when itching first started. No raised skin, bumps or rash. Goes away with lotion temporarily. Hydrocortisone ointment does not help itchiness.
By description it seems when the tonsil was damaged and bled it caused partial nerve damage to nerve branches which is giving you severe pain in jaw, itching and sweating. The damaged nerve is sending false signals to brain (like phantom limb). But do not get disheartened as this will heal with time Kindly keep taking treatment for the basic problems. Vit B complex (B1, B6 &B12 ) may be added to medication, with vit C. It will help nerve healing. Nerve healing will take some time, please be patient and till then you may apply lotion or coconut oil locally, this will keep itch. For jaw pain hot fomentation is best option. You can add sprouts, green leafy vegetables, citrus fruits to your diet to help healing.
