Suggest Treatment For Itching Sensation On Scalp, Face And Neck

I have itching in my scalp, face, neck areas, for a couple weeks now. I believe it started with an earache I had and still do have. Right side of my face hurts from what I thought was the earache. I did see a doctor and was given Fluticasone Propionate nasal spray. It relieved some systems of the earache but its still there. I cannot stand the itching. I tried changing shampoo, face wash, soap for my shower to no avail. Yes, I have tried calamine lotion . Any suggestions? I have no allergies except tp codeine. I am 63 years of age and don t understand this at all.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itching sensation on scalp, face and neck which occur due sensory nerve disturbance , damage , injury or some underlying medical conditions . The medical conditions that can cause this type of symptoms are diabetic neuropathy hyperthyroidism , anxiety or multiple sclerosis . Physical injury to area can also cause tingling sensation. Need not to worry. Treatment will be based upon the causative factor . I would suggest you to consult dermatologist/neurosurgeon for proper diagnosis and treatment . Doctor may order blood test along with some other tests and treat it accordingly. Avoid touching or pricking skin with any sharp object. Take diet rich in multivitamins and drink plenty of fluids.
