General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The itching after bee sting is allergic reaction to bee venum and pain follows the inflammatory reaction following the sting.

Home management-washing with soap and water throughly so as to remove the stinger. Ice pack relieves the symptoms.

For excess itching try with anti allergic medicine over the counter orally. Pain would go with anti inflammatory drug like Ibuprofen over the counter.

If the symptoms reduce in Few hours continue with the management. But if severe allergic reaction like swelling on face, itching all over the body, wheezing ,difficulty in breathing. You should attend ER. You may need steroid addition to your treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
