I take cymbalta and have stopped gabapinten(approx. 1 month ago) and have lots of itching and small round blister type areas on my arms. they itch off and on the only thing that seems to help is ice to the area. My upper arms look awful from the scratching. I took the gabapinten for neck pain as well as the cymbalta. PS .... I am a middle age woman in the middle of menapause. please help..
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itchy blisters on arms which seems to be due to infection of hair follicles leading to folliculitis. It could be due to excessive exposure to sunlight. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to Apply little pressure on that area with cotton dipped in warm water to ooze out the pus properly. Apply betadine over area and clean that area properly with antimicrobial agent. Use of corticosteroid ointment is helpful. Take antibiotics orally to prevent further infection. Use calamine lotion on that to resolve itchiness .Your symptoms will start resolving in 3-5 days. If it keeps on persisting visit dermatologist once to find out any hidden cause for your symptoms.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
