Suggest Treatment For Itchy Bumps On The Knees And Elbows
I was on a fishing trip in Arkansas. Fishing by river in tall grass. Little itchy bumps started my 2nd day. Thought it was poison ivy. Got so bad I went to ER a week later. Doc said it was chiggers. My last exposure was last Friday. I am still itching severely and still getting small, itchy bumps periodically. Has never spread beyond legs above knees or arms above elbows. Looks like chiggers but is not stopping. Have tried every recommended treatment.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itchy bumps on the knees and elbows.I would suggest you to start with application of aloe vera gel to keep skin moist. Do not scratch bumps as they will get infected. Avoid exposure to sunlight and keep areas clean and dry. Apply azelaic acid containing cream twice a day as this is safe and natural extract of cereals. You should apply topical antibacterial cream. I would suggest you to consult dermatologist once and get it examined. Start proper course of corticosteroid ointment.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
