Suggest Treatment For Itchy Bumps On The Scalp Of 6 Year Old Child

My 6 year old son has itchy bump like bumps on his scalp that keeps disappearing and reappearing on his scalp. I have tried antiseptic soap and Detol antiseptic liquid body wash. I also apply Bacitracin Oint to his scalp. The boils have reduced but not completely cured. Please help me?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for posting on HCM.
It seems your son is suffering from Tinea capitis, a kind of fungal infection.
I would suggest you to consult your dermatologist for proper management of the condition.

I usually recommend proper course of oral anti-fungal drugs like Fluconazole or Griseofulvin along with anti-fungal lotion like luliconazole for local application at bedtime.

Use ketoconazole shampoo twice a week for hairwash.

Take oral antihistaminics for itching as required.

Thank you
Dr Hardik Pitroda
