Suggest Treatment For Itchy Feeling In Leg Caused By An Unknown Sting

I just got back from Puerto Rico where I got some sort of bite or sting on my foot. It happened Monday night and by Tuesday my foot was so large I couldn t walk or even wear a sandal. I took a presisone and by Wed morning the swelling had gone down. But I still have itching numbness and tingling in my foot. Should I go to a doc or just do in home treatment? Prednisone and clobetasol propionate ointment.

Hi.
As per your case history of insect bite, my treatment advice is -
1. Wear full sleeve clothes to avoid further such episodes.
2. Instead of clobetasol ( high potent steroid), apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine once daily and a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain and swelling.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, oral prednisone taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
