My college student has a very itchy rash. Started out on abdomen , now on chest , appeared on bottom of feet, and palms of hands, was on face at one point today, now on chest, red blotchy, has been taking antihistamines . She says it s prickly also. Her picture tonite was red blotchy rash on chest. She s panicking she s 4 hours from home. Just got over a severe case of chiggers , picked up in the woods of ecology field trip.

It appears to be related to either Urticaria which is better known hives or might be due to contact dermatitis with any thing coming in contact with the skin at the field trip.
I suggest you to give her instructions to not to scratch any of the site as can aggravate the condition. An antihistamine such as loratadine or cetrizine can be give for 2-3 times for next 48 hours and application of calamine lotion would help a lot in relieving the irritation.
I suggest you to meet a dermatologist and get her skin analyzed if the lesions persist more than 48 hours.
