Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have started a rash dry flat yesterday on my lower abdomen itches slightly (no oozing yet) Today it has spread all the way around my sides and on my back. I have had the Shingles vac a year ago. I received the flu shot yesterday, but the rash started a day before this. Could this be nerves? I have had a muscle and nerve problem in my right leg for the past month. I have been on Gabapentin and Skeltor for awhile.Have any ideas?
Itchy rashes over skin of abdomen and back could be due to eczema, allergic hives or atopic dermatitis or tinea corporis etc but I will need to inspect those rashes to arrive at a certain conclusion.
It is very unlikely to be related to your flu shot or any nerve involvement.
So,the important thing is to diagnose first rather than just treatment.
You must go to dermatologist for detailed history and inspection of rashes to have a clear diagnosis.
You may require topical corticosteroid (beclomethasone, clobetasol or mometasome) with anti-fungal cream like miconazole or itraconazole and antihistamines orally to reduce the sense of itching.

Suggest Treatment For Itchy Rash On Lower Abdomen
Hi, Welcome to health care magic, Itchy rashes over skin of abdomen and back could be due to eczema, allergic hives or atopic dermatitis or tinea corporis etc but I will need to inspect those rashes to arrive at a certain conclusion. You may require topical corticosteroid (beclomethasone, clobetasol or mometasome) with anti-fungal cream like miconazole or itraconazole and antihistamines orally to reduce the sense of itching. Some times oral antifungal dosage for once with prednisolone are also effective. Meanwhile, you can continue to take gabapentin and skeltor for your muscle and nerve problem in right leg. So,better consult skin specialist. Regards,
