Suggest Treatment For Itchy Rashes All Over The Body And Eye Swelling

My husband had an itchy diffuse rash and swollen eyes with severe HA. He I d allergic to bee stings (anaphylaxis) but did not see anything that could have caused the problem. He went to the ER and they were convinced it was an allergic reaction to something. Gave him IV Benadryl and steroids. 5 days after he still as itchy rash on upper & lower extremities and trunk, arm pain and swelling by IV site, mild swelling bilateral eye am and now very soft voice but no trouble swallowing. Could it be something like a TIA or myasthenia gravis (I m a neuro PA). Not sure if I should take him back to the ER,

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to an allergic reaction.

I suggest giving him antihistamines such as Benadryl daily.

If the symptoms continue, I suggest going to the emergency room for prescription steroids.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
