Suggest Treatment For Itchy Rashes All Over The Body With Headache And Sore Throat

I have an extremely itchy rash on my neck, my ears, my chest, arms, back, and now spreading to my thighs and to my knees. I m running a fever to around 100. I have a headache, sore throat, cough, fatigue, and now diarrhea too. The itching is severe. I am very allergic to ragweed, don t know if that is what s causing it, but I ve never had that kind of reaction to ragweed before. I went to the doctor, he gave me a steroid shock and told me to take 1 Zantac 2times daily and 2 Zyrtec 2 x daily. I ve been doing that, it s not doing a thing for this.

You may need a course of oral steroids since the itching is not abating with the zantac and zyrtec. The course maybe needed for at least 3 days.

Zantac, though more commonly used for stomach problems, acts in the body by blocking some of the actions of histamine.
This the reason that it is added to resistant allergic reactions, the zyrtec is blocking some histamine and the zantac- other sites of histamine action.

After the reaction has resolved, then you may want to consider allergy testing to determine the specific cause of this reaction.

Allergy testing can be for medications, food, drinks or environmental allergens.
