Suggest Treatment For Itchy Rashes And Bumps On The Body
I have something that I thought was a bug bite, but it itched horribly and soon spread to 3 more bite looking places. It was on the top of my foot and my foot was swelling. It lasted about 10 days. it is still on my foot but not itching anymore. Now I have the same thing between my fingers and on my chest and stomach. About 5 or 6 of them. If I squeeze the bump a liquid comes out .There is a rash that appears near the bumps. The itching is intolerable. Today a bruise appeared around the bumps on my stomach. I originally went to the doctor and she prescribed an anti itch creme and advised me to use Neosporin on the bite. The anti itch creme helps some, but I started taking Tylenol PM to help with the nighttime itching. Help!
Hi. As per your case history you are having scabies, my treatment advice is - 1. Don't squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a permethrin 5% lotion once a week at night from neck to toe. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral ivermectin, topical crotamiton given only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
