Suggest Treatment For Itchy Rashes On Lower Abdomen, Forearms And Legs

I have a rash type problem. It started with an itchy head in September and has now progressed to an area on my lower stomach, my fore arms near my elbows and my legs but in sporadic areas. The itch is unbearable at times especially in the evening and even when scratching intensely I can not pin point the area of that is causing the need to scratch so intensely. The rash consists of bumps and vary in size but re skin colored until scratched and opened. I was advised of having head lice but this issue has been going on since September and would imagine by now my family would also have head lice but this is not the case. Please help.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain the symptoms are pointing towards Contact Allergic Dermatitis and can occur due to allergic reaction to certain products like Poison ivy, washing powders, soaps, body lotions, cosmetics, leather, latex rubber etc..
You need to consult a Dermatologist or an Allergist and get evaluated and in case of suspected allergic reaction he/she can advise you to take anti allergics like Levocetrizine or Fexofenadine [allegra] for relief from itching and bumps, steroid ointments like Cortisone can also be advised.
Do cold compresses over the rashes..
You can also be advised to take allergy tests like Patch test, RAST test and food challenge test to rule out the specific allergen and avoiding exposure can prevent allergy symptoms..
An immunotherapy against the allergen can also be advised to you to reduce the severity of allergy symptoms if exposed to allergen..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
