Suggest Treatment For Itchy Red Rashes On The Upper Thighs And Inner Arms

I have redness,,rash, itchy skin. It is mainly on my front upper thighs, inner arms about sleeve length. And on my back side at underwear line. I thought maybe it was fire ants, but it has not formed a pustule. I have used calamine, alcohol, astringent which have not helped. The redness has not formed any blisters or weeping. Of course I have been working in shrubbery. I just took 2 benedryl to relieve the itches no. Any suggestions?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It sounds like an allergic reaction based on the symptoms mentioned (redness, rash, itching skin) . It may not be a reaction to the fire ants but due to something else that you reacted to while working.

In addition to the regular use of benadryl for 24 to 48 hours, you may want to consider the use of a topical steroid and anti histamine cream to help decrease the skin's inflammatory response.
A mild topical steroid such as hydrocortisone, would be available over the counter.
At the same time you can get a topical antihistamine such as topical benadryl

I hope this helps
