I ve been experiencing itchy red welts that seem to appear overnight. Most recently, they have been raised, about the size of a penny, or nickel. If I press them, they are hard beneath the surface. They are appearing in clusters, or rows, with two, three, or four welts over an area of six to eight square inches. Do you have any idea what that might be?
You might be suffering from pityriasis rosea which has a possible viral etiology. The lesions appear in crops as described by you.It is a self limiting disease. However antibiotic like azithromycin might help due to its immunomodulatory action. Also antihistamines like fexofenadine may be used if itching is too troublesome. Consult your dermatologist regarding the above mentioned therapy. Regards
