Hi,

Labia are known as the vaginal lips. Itchy, swollen and sensitive labia may result from yeast infections, bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis, allergies or irritations, sexual intercourse, bartholin's cyst, uncontrolled DM, medications like antibiotics, steroids etc. Treatment depends on causes. So, some investigations like urine R/M/E & C/S, vaginal swab for C/S, tissue sample or biopsy from the lesion etc should be done to find out the underlying causes for swollen labia and then treat them accordingly. Antifungal cream like clotrimazole, mild steroid cream like hydrocortisone and antibacterial cream can be applied on the affected area 2-3times daily along with washing vagina regularly and keeping dry, using condoms and lubrication during sexual activities, wearing loose and cotton undergarments etc.

Take care. Hope, I have answered your questions. Let me know if I can assist you further.
