You are advised to discontinue using Betnovate as steroids can make symptoms disappear for sometime but the problem is bound to recur when you stop their use. Your condition can be diagnosed either with scrapings test or by examination under Woods Lamp as the description closely matches Pit Versiciolor which is a fungal infection. It is treatable and more care towards hygienic especially daily baths is advised for you.
