Suggest Treatment For Joining Stiches After Child Birth

hi i have tb igg positive at 226.08 & after my pregnancy , stiches does not joined after 3 months. doctors say that stiches does not joined due to tb. then suggest me, what should i do means biopsy is required or medicines should be started. will it make any side effect to my baby

Hello and welcome,

If Tb IgG is positive it does not mean that the TB is present in the wound. However we need to rule out this possibility. So getting a biopsy is a very good idea as well as a ziel neilson smear from that site.

If TB is detected in the wound then you will need to start anti TB medicines. Some of the drugs are safe and can be taken during breast feeding and do not harm the baby. However it depends on the drugs and regimen of treatment. So the decision to continue breast feeding or stop it will depend upon which drugs you are taking and will be decided later after results of biopsy.

So please do not worry, get a biopsy as well as a stain from the wound. Also eat a balanced diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables and protein [ eggs, meat or sprouts] daily to help quicker wound healing.
