Suggest Treatment For Keloid Scar In Mouth After An Injury
Hi,I was attacked and robbed of my wallet and phone 3 weeks ago and has a result had to have stiches in mouth face and head. My mouth is fully healed and all stitches are out but I've been left with hard lump from inside mouth and what might be a keloid scar. Can you tell me if this will soften and is it best to treat scar with silicone sheets, gel or massage?, Mark
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain a hard lump inside the mouth in the area where there was injury seems to be due to formation of Hematoma that has occurred due to injury to a blood vessels leading to accumulation of blood into soft tissues..
At times there is encapsulation or localization of Hematoma leading to formation of a firm lump.. Nothing to worry, it will resolve gradually on its way.. You can start doing alternate warm and cool compresses over the lump.. Take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen..
In case if the symptoms does not resolve or shows signs of improvement in 15 days consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
