Suggest Treatment For Kidney Infection And Swelling In Ankles

My doctor told me last Friday that I have a kidney infection. She thought it might be because I am on 120mg of Lasix My cardiologist said I can go down to 80mg if I don t have swelling in my ankles but I do if I don t take it. Neither one gave me any anti-biotics. What should I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

If the kidney infection is due to overuse of Lasix, there is no need for antibiotics.
So, I agree with your doctor that you should lower the dose of Lasix.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
