Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mother in law suffering from 9mm stone at u v junction ( that s what sonography report says) . Rite now she is admitted in the hospital. Her Age is 61 and morning blood report says she has 250 in sugar.. Here doctor is suggesting for operate. I just want your opinion.
I've gone through your query. I can understand your anxiety.
Usually, kidney stones of size 5mm or less will easily get excreted through urine. But for your mother in law, it is 9mm (>5mm) in UV junction, which means the chances to get excreted out is very less.
So, in order to maintain the normal kidney function before any complications sets in, it's better to go ahead with surgery as per advice.
NOTE : 1.Have a good control of blood sugar level before surgery. 2. To do kidney functions test.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care.
Regards, Dr. Yogapriya V, General and family physician.
