Suggest Treatment For Knee-cap Injury

bashed knee cap on concrete 6wks ago; excruciating pain whenever i touch it, but it doesn't swell. only a small puffy and bruised area whenever i knock it or even brush past something. shooting pains through kneecap and also limp a bit but can still walk. any ideas?
