Suggest Treatment For Knee Injury And Pustule On Healing Road Rash
Hi, I m a 21 year old healthy female and a about a month ago I fell running. I injured my knee and got road rash. The doctor at Urgent Care said it should take about a month to heal. And they were right for the most part. I m allergic to neosporin so they gave me bactracin which lead to an allergic reaction. So the doctor then prescribed me Mupirocin and that has helped tremendously. So about 3 days ago this white scab came off that has been like a layer of protective skin and now my skin is pink and healthy looking. So after hearing to use Aquaphor I tried it for one night and day and notice my knee was having a reaction so immediately stopped using and went back to the Mupirocin but today I noticed a raised red pus filled bump on my healing road rash and wondered if I should be concerned or just leave it alone.
Hello,Welcome to HCM. If its really a pus then new infection has started.Better you go and show it to surgeon. With your description it tells all this while wound was healthy. If its really infected now, early treatement will have less adverse effects. washing infected wound and applying local antibiotic ointment will make the wound heal better. Take care
