Suggest Treatment For Knee Pain And Walking Difficulty
I AM HAVING SERIOUS KNEE PAIN AND CANT FULLY STRETCH IT, IVE HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR A SEVERAL YEARS BUT SINCE JUNE IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE TO WHERE IF IM SITTING OR BEND MY KNEE AND GO TO STRAIGHTEN IT, I CANT WALK OR PUT A LOT OF WEIGHT ON IT AND TODAY IT IS NOW SENDING SHOOTING PAINS UP AND DOWN MY LEG
You need imaging of the knees by at least x rays. If there is no definitive answer , further imaging such as CT scan may be needed.
The fact that the pain has been ongoing for several years may mean that the pain may be related to arthritis of the joint. There are different types and causes of arthritis . The most common are osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, etc
The shooting pains may sometimes indicate involvement of surrounding nerves but this would be determined when you are seen by your doctor.
I hope this helps
