Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My two middle knuckles on my right hand have been swollen for almost a year or so now. They seem to get worse. Now my fingers on those knuckles are stiff when try to straighten them, when I use that hand to grip anything for awhile I start to feel an annoying dull pain and also it feels like I can feel a nerve or something moving in my hand when I move those knuckles and fingers. When use my right hand some times a certain way, I get shot of pain in my hand and have to stop using it for a couple min.
X rays of the hand may be needed, in rheumatoid, blood tests are also suggested as well.
The anti inflammatory pain medications would be first line and include ibuprofen, naproxen, cataflam, celebrex. If these are not helpful alternatives can be used.
I hope this helps
