Suggest Treatment For Large Sebaceous Cyst On Right Cheek
I have a large sebacious cyst on my right cheek. My dermatoligist sent me to a plastic surgeon who said he will need to surgically remove it. He said I will have a scar 3/4 of an inch. Is there any plastic surgery that can be done in the future to remove the scar? How long of a recuperating time after the cyst is removed. I am in the public eye daily and need to plan time off so I look normal when I return. Will there be packing of the is after is removed? Should I just leave it alone? It has been growing and I have had it for many years now. I remember when I was younger it was zit , I thought and I kept squeezing it. There may be some scar tissue in it. I don t have any pain or discomfort but it does itch. Should I go to 2 or 3 plastic surgeons . I live in Northern California near Sacramento.
It's very individual. Some people have a lot of scar formation. If someone other than a surgeon works on a skin problem it is guaranteed to scar jaggedly and a lot. Scar tissue accumulates but this can be removed and generally the scar is small. 3/4 of an inch of scar is not much. It looks worst at about 3 to 7 days and it diminishes over months and years.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
