Suggest Treatment For Large Water Blisters On Toes

I have been experiencing large water blisters on my toes and heels of my feet. This started in April of 2014 and I have had three of these since then. One one blister on my fifth toe was the first one and the whole toe was a blister which caused the toenail to come off. The next one on the same foot was the entire heel. (3inch x 1 in.)I was seen by a dermatologist who drained the blister. This is still very tender. Three days ago, another one started on the other foot on the outside of the big toe. No one has been able to determine the cause of these. I would appreciate any advice you could give me.

Hi.
As per your case history you are having podo - pompholyx.
My treatment advice is -
1. It is a chronic disease but can be controlled with proper care.
2. Avoid friction on feet and wear loose footwear.
3. Wash both feet daily once with solution containing potassium permanganate.
4. Apply a mild topical steroid cream like mometasone cream on blisters.
5. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
