Suggest Treatment For Laryngitis

MY husband has been given topotecan by intravenous for 2 days so far. Doctor said 5 days total then 3 weeks off, then 5 more days then another ct scan. He has small cell lung cancer. He was treated with 2 different chemo drugs at the same time for four rounds. Tumors shrunk. Two months since last chemo and now cancer has traveled to the right lymph node in his neck. He has laryngitis. His red count is low already. Prognosis please?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per your history, it may be due to laryngitis.

For that you may require antibiotics like azithromycin after consultation.

In case of fever, take tablet acetaminophen. Do saline or Betadine gargles twice a day.

Take hygienic food and water. Take steam inhalation.

Hope I have answered your query and let me know if I can assist you further...

Regards,
Dr Shyam Kale
