Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
In the last three days, I ve been experiencing a sharp, focused pain on the left side of my abdomen, above the belly button and more to the left side. It has awakened me at night. At first, I thought it was muscle strain but it s become more focused and more painful. There seems to be a small egg-shaped swelling in that area, too. What could it be?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have left-sided abdominal pain . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like gastric volvulus , trapped wind , aortic aneurysm , bowel cancer , kidney stones , pancreatitis , diverticulitis and hernia . I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may order endoscopy , ultrasound , stool test and physical examination by checking direction of pain and tenderness or swelling of lump and treat it accordingly . Doctor may also refer you to nephrologist or urologist . For now take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain and eat light and fibrous food .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
