Suggest Treatment For Leg Pain

My girlfriend's leg is in a lot of pain but there's no trauma at all. She describes it as a "toothache" in her leg starting from the knee down. She also says its something she's always had since she can remember. She also says the pain pulses at times and while it feels like "standard" pain, it sometimes feels like its burning. Also, pain medication doesn't help at all.
