Suggest Treatment For Lethargy And Nausea

Hello, I have a serious fear of throwing up so I need to ask a question. My boyfriend was not feeling well on Sunday, October 19th. He left work early, and just felt really lethargic. Monday, the 20th, he seemed fine but i guess just did not feel well later that night. Tuesday morning, the 21st, he threw up. About an hour later, he was hungry and ate lunch and then he ate dinner later on that night and he has not thrown up since Tuesday, but he felt weak the rest of the week until Friday the 24th. He s convinced that he had food poisoning since he only threw up once. However, since I am so afraid of vomiting, i thought he had a stomach virus. But since Friday, he has been fine. I just saw him today, Friday the 31st, and i kissed him, but now i am worried that if in fact he had a stomach virus instead of food poisoning, that i will contract it. My question is, do you think it was food poisoning or a virus and if it was a virus, was he still contagious to give it to me now?

Hello
Since after 12th day of symptoms of your boy friend you kissed him, so there is no chance of getting infection by you due to stomach virus . Usually this type of virus remain contagious for 7-10 days .
But in your boy friend case all these symptoms mentioned by you may be due to hyper acidity or gastritis .
2nd reason of such symptoms may be due to overeating .
3rd reason of such symptoms may be indigestion ( not food poisoning ) due to any food articles .
When such patient visit I advise them to avoid spicy , greasy foods . Also don't take alcohol , drinks with caffeine in them.
Take some antacid but if severe nausea or vomiting , may need drugs like pantoprazole-d once or twice in day for 2-3 days .
Since these are prescription medicine , so consult your physician and get his opinion.
However , tepid water with lemon juice with salt in it also help but drink it sip by sip.
