I HAVE LIKEN PLANUS IN THE SCALP. IN THE PAST I HAVE TAKEN STERIOID SHOTS IN MY SCALP. THEY HELPED BUT 8 YRS LATER I AM STILL GETTING DRY ,ITCHY SCALP THAT WHEN STRESSED GETS WORSE, MY HAIR GROWS BUT THEN COMES OUT AGAIN WHENEVER I DO ANY COLORING OR ANY THING. SOMETIMES THE ITCHING IS UNBEARABLE. I AM A PROFESSIONAL AND I NEED TO LOOK MY BEST. I USE WIGS/WEAVE, BUT WHEN THE ITCHOMG STARTS IT GETS REALLY DIFFICULT AND HARD TO SCRATCH. WHAT CAN I DO. MY HAIR WILL GROW PRETTY LONG BUT HAS THINNED TREMENDOUSLY, ESPECIALLY AROUND THE FRONT AND FRONT PART OF MY HEAD

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello, lichen planus of the scalp , also known as lichen planopilaris produces cicatricial (scarring) alopecia, since you are experiencing itching on the lesions, it is a pointer that disease is active currently,
You need to visit a dermatologist for evaluation and depending on the activity u may require a short course of steroids and agents like dapsone or hydoxychloroquine.. For the time being, take tab Allegra 180 mg for your itching.
Get well soon
Thanks
