Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For 6 months I have incurred light headedness when I rise from a sitting position. I pause and wait for several seconds to take a step. I am 84 and still play tennis and do not have this dizzyness on the court. I have lost 15-20 lbs over the past year and wear smaller pants and shirts. Robert Stevens.
Your symptoms seem to be related to orthostatic hypotension. I suggest measuring the blood pressure while you are lying and up to confirm the diagnosis. Meanwhile, I recommend to avoid salt in the diet. I also recommend to use compression stockings.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
