Suggest Treatment For Lingering Cough And Cold

Hello, Dr Rynne. I have a cough and phlem in my lungs that is similar to to the type that occurs and lingers on after a cold. However, I did not have a cold first this time. I am currently taking Robitussin DM to loosen it. I do not have a fever. This all came on about two days ago, after visiting a relative in a nursing home. Should I be taking antibiotics?

I really appreciate your concern, this could be allergic cough and this could be self limiting continue the medicine that you are taking and no need to go for antibiotic, hope this information helps, take care.
