Hi doctorr My 5 moth old baby use to have 5to 6 lose stools per day 15 days back, that time I consult a pediatric he prescribe, cifixime syp, Econorm powder, isomil powder and and nustum rice in solid, again after 15 days my baby having 3 to 4 stools per day, Now I don’t want to give antibiotic any for for my baby, is there any other solution?? Please Advice
It's very common among infants to have loose stools especially during the weaning period that is when foods other than mother's milk are introduced. It takes some time for them to adjust.
In the meanwhile, there is no need of any antibiotic. Continue econorm powder and isomil powder. Discontinue nestum rice for 2-3 days. If the baby continues loose stools even after 3 days, then you may have to consult a pediatrician.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
